Cultivation: The largest rice field in Greece is located in the protected area of the Axios Delta National Park - Loudia - Aliakmonas, which also includes the mouth of the French River and the Kalochori Lagoon, the wetland of Nea Agathoupolis and Aliki Kitrous. High quality rice is grown in this area by experienced and passionate producers. The selection of products is done carefully so that we can offer you rice of top quality and high nutritional value.
Characteristics: It is a white rice, ideal for spiced pilaf, spinach and stuffed peppers

RECIPE
LONG GRAIN RICE WITH SAFFRON
- 2 cups of long grain rice
- 50g of butter
- 1 grated onion
- 1 sachet of saffron
- 1 cube of beef
INSTRUCTIONS
In a saucepan, saute the onion in the butter until it becomes transparent. Add the saffron and mix to incorporate with the onion. Add the rice and stir for about 3 minutes. Add 4 cups of boiling water, the cube, salt, pepper, mix, cover and let it simmer for 12'-15'. Remove from the eye, mix, cover with a towel and then with the lid and let it rest for 10'. Serve hot garnished with fresh mint or parsley and chopped nuts (optional!).
