The FLEXIZYME Project Kick-Off Meeting marked a major step forward in advancing industrial biotechnology competitiveness.

FLEXIZYME is a 48-month project aiming to develop a versatile biotechnological platform for producing primary Fatty Amines (FAs) from fat-rich and protein-rich feedstocks. The project officially launched with a successful meeting in
Valencia, Spain. Hosted by ITENE, the event gathered consortium partners, including CluBE, to advance towards a circular economy and a more sustainable EU.

Bio-based Products Through Sustainable By-products

FLEXIZYME aims to develop biobased FAs from various feedstocks to meet industrial needs.

• • An Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream Approach
    The project employs a holistic approach, ensuring industrial implementation of the biotechnological platform while addressing ethical, societal, and gender issues.

• • A Consortium of Experts.
    FLEXIZYME's consortium covers the entire value chain from residue valorisation to end- users. Notable Greek partners include Voion Land Products, the https://clube.gr/en/, CERTH, and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. This collaboration ensures a comprehensive approach to developing a circular bioeconomy in the EU.
