{"id":1948,"date":"2018-04-28T21:53:16","date_gmt":"2018-04-28T18:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.voion.gr\/?p=1948"},"modified":"2024-02-14T12:00:38","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T09:00:38","slug":"keftedes-favas-me-saltsa-ntomatas-kai-kapparis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voion.gr\/en\/keftedes-favas-me-saltsa-ntomatas-kai-kapparis\/","title":{"rendered":"Fava meatballs with tomato sauce and capers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>For fava&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>6 cups <a href=\"https:\/\/voion.gr\/en\/fava\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"6945\">Voion fava<\/a><\/li>\n\n<li>1 1\/2 lt water<\/li>\n\n<li>3\/4 cup chopped onion<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 - 3\/4 cup olive oil<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>For meatballs<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>6 cups cooked fava beans<\/li>\n\n<li>1 1\/2 cup semolina<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 cup chives<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/4 cup chopped mint<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped parsley<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 cup semolina for flour<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 cup olive oil for frying<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>For the tomato and caper sauce&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 cup caper<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped green chives<\/li>\n\n<li>1 can of tomatoes or 1 cup fresh tomatoes (peeled)<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/2 cup olive oil<\/li>\n\n<li>1\/4 cup White wine<\/li>\n\n<li>2 laurel leaves<\/li>\n\n<li>2 cloves garlic, finely chopped<\/li>\n\n<li>salt and pepper<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Procedure<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>How to prepare fava&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p><ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Boil the fava together with the onion in a medium-sized saucepan with cold water. Simmer for 40-60 minutes, until the fava is so soft that it dissolves easily.<\/li>\n\n<li>Mix in the blender and make a porridge. Season with salt and pepper and if necessary, add a little water.<\/li>\n\n<li>When it is ready, and while it is still hot, mix it with the olive oil.
