{"id":1938,"date":"2018-04-28T13:59:40","date_gmt":"2018-04-28T10:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.voion.gr\/?p=1938"},"modified":"2024-02-14T15:17:45","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T12:17:45","slug":"fakoryzo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/voion.gr\/en\/fakoryzo\/","title":{"rendered":"lentils with rice"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p><h4>Ingredients<\/h4>\n<div class=\"widget ingredients\">\n<div class=\"shortcode-ingredients\">\n<p><b>For lentils:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>250 \u03b3\u03c1. \u03c6\u03b1\u03ba\u03ad\u03c2 <a href=\"http:\/\/voion.gr\/en\/product\/%cf%86%ce%b1%ce%ba%ce%ad%cf%82-%cf%88%ce%b9%ce%bb%ce%ad%cf%82\/\">Voion<\/a> (or 1\/2 packet)<\/li>\n<li>1 large chopped onion<\/li>\n<li>2 whole cloves garlic<\/li>\n<li>2 large laurel leaves<\/li>\n<li>\u00bc cup olive oil<\/li>\n<li>juice of 1 lemon<\/li>\n<li>salt and freshly ground pepper<\/li>\n<li>a little chopped parsley (for garnish)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>For rice:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 cup basmati rice<\/li>\n<li>1.5 cups water<\/li>\n<li>6 tbsp. olive oil<\/li>\n<li>salt for rice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Procedure<\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">We start by washing and straining the lentils, which I then keep aside. In a saucepan, steam the onion and whole garlic with a little water and add the laurel leaves.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">After 2-3 minutes, add the lentils and enough water to cover them (but not more) and boil for 10-15 '. Later I add the salt and the freshly ground pepper and boil again for another 5 ', while I add more (boiling) water since the lentils have drunk it all. At the end I add the oil and let the lentils boil 1-2 times.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">When the lentils are ready they should have a slightly thick juice to be cooked, while in case they remain in liquid I can add a little more boiling water. After it cools down a bit, I remove the laurel leaves and the whole garlic cloves and add the lemon juice.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">We continue with the rice, which I wash and strain, while in an open pot I heat the olive oil.
